Welcome to my page...

Hello - my name is Nikki and I created this site Webmums!

I am a mum of three gorgeous girls, married to a man with more patience than a saint and currently residing in a house fit to burst at the seams in Sussex!
The site is for women of all walks of life and I hope that everyone can find their own little place here and really enjoy the WebMums community.

As a mum, I know how hard it is to earn a living and even make friends on occasion. So I developed WebMums as a space where mums can socialise but also have the chance to network, advertise their businesses for free on their profile pages and pick up ideas for working from home - if need be.

The site can be a little daunting at first - but I am working on a simple, site navigation map - which should make things a little easier. If you need help uploading pictures, navigating your way around the site, on how to use the forum etc - then please feel free to send me a message (click on send message underneath my profile pic) or leave a comment here on my page below. I will get back to you ASAP.

If you would like to advertise your business on our main front page - please contact me for prices. We charge a small fee to WebMums members (compared to outside sponsors).

I do hope you will be an active and valid member of the WebMums community.

A Little About Me
A little bit Dumpy,
More Boho than Frumpy,
A mummy to three,
& dunks biscuits in tea!

That is a basic summary of me I guess but there is a little more to it! I love the internet and I've taught myself so much. Since my husband bought me a laptop - I have discovered a whole new world!
Im addition to that I am a mum!! I love my kids to distraction and they are really wonderful little people who make me very proud!
I've been married for 10 years (this year) and I have been with my husband for nearly 20 years.
A Little About My Business
I've opened 2 webstores (3 if you include eBay) and I've now set this site up for women. I'm also working on another two that will support this one.
I spend hours researching and writing articles for this site to bring together an assortment of info that may otherwise be difficult to find.
I know from experience how difficult it can be to find the right information regarding homeworking as not everything on the internet is 'at your fingertips'.
So, the concept of Web-Mums was born. There are other sites with lots of info for women but there is always room for more. You will find a list of all sites of interest in our resources area - which is being built at the moment.
In addition to supplying info - this is a great site for socialising and bringing women together from all walks of life.
Website:
http://www.webmums.com
What Do You Aim To Achieve In The Next 12 Months?
I will do my best to help promote women in business and make available all the necessary info they need!
I will move house - bigger and better than the one I am currently residing in. There's far too many of us in it now!
I shall concentrate on building up my businesses to make them really successful.
I will turn to my husband and tell him to resign from the job he hates so that he can start his own business, as I will have the money to support his dream!
Favourite Reads
All the serial killer type books - Love the James Patterson series with Alex cross, Peter James, Val McDermid, Helen Black (one of our WebMums), Tess Gerritson, Nicci French, Michael Prescott, Jeffrey Deaver, Harlan Coben etc - and also like (though more buffy than real) Kelley Armstrongs Werewolf/Magick series.
Favourite Word or Quote
I quite like the word 'Squishy' cos it sounds 'Squishy'

Also positive words like CAN, WILL, DO, ACHIEVE - these are words that are becoming more and more important in my life.
Anything Else You'd Like To Add?
Hmmm.....well, I'd like to say thanks for reading this far.

If you have any ideas/articles or anything you'd like to share - then please feel free to contact me nikki@webmums.com

I hope to inspire you whilst you all inspire me.
As a Member of WebMums I will Try & Pop in Once A Fortnight
I can't wait to get stuck in!

Hi Nikki. Thanks for your comment, it is good to get positive feedback on Count On It. At the moment I am aiming Count On It at the mother's market to highlight how it can save food, waste and money. I am trying to get a feature in one of the Baby/toddler magazines, any help or suggestions on how to do this more successfully would be greatly appreciated, p.s. if you want me to send you a sample, let me know. Thanks again Lyndsey

Well, I have been busy and so not much time to write anything - not even on my own blog! Also we are still trying to sell the house and the finca and I have been up to Norfolk (beautiful!). I am looking into promoting my own label (see below - Helen, the Wonder Lady ;-)) and have hired a telemarketing firm. Let's see what they come up with and then I shall start a blog on here. Is anything happeing with Sheila's tearoom?
