A Little About Me
Freelance PR consultant and pregnant mum-of-a-toddler!
A Little About My Business
After almost a decade of working in PR and the media, I decided to 'go it alone' after giving birth to my son in November 2005. LS Media was born in the summer of 2006.

I’m a freelance PR professional with over ten years' extensive experience in the travel/leisure, entertainment and parenting sectors. Specialising in media relations, press office management, creative brainstorming and strategic proactive campaigns, I’ve helped grow companies of all shapes and sizes by delivering slick, affordable PR solutions. I also boast a strong background in crisis communications for those slightly knife-edge moments we all encounter now and again…

Whether you're seeking a cost effective alternative to a traditional agency or a freelance PR consultant to join your existing team, you'll find that my working style is flexible enough to fit almost any agenda.

LS Media client appears on BBC Breakfast

Here's a clip of an appearance I secured for my client, Natasha Courtenay-Smith, on BBC Breakfast. Promoting her business, TalkToThePress.com, the campaign I implemented in April for Natasha has generated coverage seen by more than 11 million UK adults. You can find out more about the campaign by clicking here.

FOUR MILLION, ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT THOUSAND

Hello, Unfortunately, that's not the amount I won on the Lottery last week – but the number of UK adults my client, Harley Street Hypnotherapist Alicia Eaton, reached through her radio interviews last week. As part of National Hypnotherapy Week, I secured interviews for Alicia on a variety of major UK national and regional stations including TalkSport, BBC London (an hour-long phone-in slot), BBC Cambridge, BBC Northampton and Glasgow’s Clyde 1. She specialis… Continue

New logo and name 'n' praise

I've just had my company's logo 'cleaned up' a bit and now have a better colour choice and sleek new business cards to boot. The new logo is below and I can't praise Bobbyflash Design enough for their hard work and friendly, helpful attitude!

Shouting about success... even if I do say so myself!

During my time working for a PR agency in London a few years back, my team members and I were frequently asked to stand up in front of the rest of the company and "talk up" our recent achievements. Nothing was more nerve-wracking if I'm honest: no high-pressured new business pitch could compare to standing in front of my peers and talking about how well we had apparently done! But it's a theme that's stayed with me throughout my career and something I've tried hard to drum home to clients and co… Continue

Welcome to LS Media - who am I?

To kick-start my presence here on Giant Potential, I thought I'd introduce myself and LS Media properly... For more than a decade, I've worked in PR and the media. After spending over eight years working both for PR agencies (including PR Week's Consultancy of the Year 2001) and in-house, I decided to 'go it alone' after giving birth to my gorgeous little boy in November 2005. And so, LS Media Ltd was born in May 2006! These days, I thoroughly enjoy juggling the hard graft of motherhood… Continue

Hi Lesley

Thanks for your message. Yes they are very close because Jake was exactly 2.5 on 22 April so there's about 2 weeks in it. How did Tom go at nursery today? I hope he enjoyed it as much as Jake enjoys nursery. He started in January and loves it but he only goes 2 afternoons a week at the moment and he could probably do with going a bit more than that really. How many days is Tom doing?

Our second babies birthdays will be similar too although a years difference this time as Chloe was born 3rd October last year. I don't know what personality Tom is but Jake is very boisterous and a typical boy who loves climbing etc and has always been very independent. Chloe in the other hand is completely opposite and is not interested in moving at all (Jake was starting to crawl just before the age she is now) and she has to have me in touching distance all the time.

It will be interesting to see what differences you find between a boy and girl. Hope you are not finding it too hard being pregnant with a toddler too.

Speak soon

Hi Lesley,

Welcome to Web Mums!

Had a peek at your website and blown away by the extent of your success - you put my own efforts to shame! My husband is self employed, so I have some understanding of what it's like to 'go it alone', but so far I've lacked the know-how or self beleif to be able to make enough to leave my own job, and besides, the regular salary comes in very handy to pay the mortgage during the 'lean' months. So my book website is very much a hobby at present.

I hope you'll find the site a useful networking opportunity - and make some new friends as well. I know I have! :)

Back to Basics in Online Marketing
